Windrush 1948 (Public Commission for The World Reimagined), Trafalgar Square, London (2022)

In response to the theme of A Complex Triangle, 'Windrush 1948' was commissioned as part of The World Reimagined's sculpture trail exploring the history, legacy and future impact of the Transatlantic Enslaved Africans Trade.

The work was part of a series of fibreglass globe sculptures painted by artists. Thompson's piece was displayed in Trafalgar Square, and finally on the Hackney - Newham arts trail.
